The scenarios in Cthulhu by Gaslight: Dust & Blood book reveal the grimy underbelly of Victorian London. “Ashes to Ashes” works well for novice Keepers and players, while “Signs Writ in Scarlet” offers a deeper, more far-reaching mystery for experienced groups. “Ashes to Ashes” is a one-shot for three to six players that can be completed in one or two sessions. Though set in London, it can be relocated to any large town or city in Victorian Britain. Investigators are assumed to be working-class employees at Lange’s Dust Yard, though broader concepts are possible.
“Signs Writ in Scarlet” is a deadly sandbox scenario ideal for experienced Keepers. Set in London’s East End, it may take several sessions for up to six investigators, who may come from a variety of social class backgrounds. Ten pre-generated investigators are included and specially designed for these scenarios. For mature readers: this book deals with mature themes and is intended for mature players.
Use both cases to tell bleak tales of the Victorian age—from the dust yard to the fog-shrouded alleys of the East End.
FOR MATURE READERS: This book contains adult themes and is intended for mature players.
